Mojave Desert — San Diego

The Bear Flag Relay is shadowing the final five days of TeamRWB’s 5th annual Old Glory Relay.

Join us in supporting this spectacular organization in their home stretch!

Team RWB has been moving the U.S. flag 4,000 miles across America. Californians know how tough that arduous journey west can be! That’s why when step into CA, they’ll have friends with a Bear Flag by their side from November 7th-11th. Destination: USS Midway, San Diego.

the Bear Flag Relay will be shadowing the Old Glory Relay. This means that while you run with the CA flag, you will be next to someone carrying carrying the U.S. flag from the Old Glory Relay.  Please click to learn more the Old Glory Relay, TeamRWB, and to support their cause. Already Registered? Helpful info about your day:

  • The flag will move from sunrise to sunset each day.

  • All running paces welcome: it's not a race. The idea is to just keep the flags constantly moving.

  • Instead of miles, think about the amount of time you can offer. For comparison, think about the total time you might set aside to run a popular 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon, etc and set that time aside to spend with us.

  • We strongly suggest running only a couple miles at a time. For example, if you signed up to run 8 miles running 2, taking a break, then grabbing the flag for another turn.

  • Getting back to vehicles sounds challenging, but it works itself out. The old Glory Relay changes hands 10,000 times each year, and nobody's gotten left in a Nebraskan cornfield yet! Between our support vehicle, and other volunteers we'll never leave a Californian behind!

  • On the day of the event, we’ll be working with you (likely via text) to determine approximate meeting locations and times.

This is a lot of moving pieces! Bottom line: we’ll be in touch! So please, keep an eye out for emails, calls, and texts. Thanks for trusting. And we can’t wait to meet you! Having trouble getting ahold of your day’s team captain? Contact customer service:
