Hike Info:

Round trip distance

  • 2.25 miles

  • 1,044 ft total elevation gain

Your Hike Group

  • There will be 25 guests per hike.

  • Guests will be split into groups and assigned a local expert to lead the way to to the top!

  • Your hike leader could be a student volunteer from Cal Poly, a scientist from you California Military Department, or a member of the California Native Plant Society.


Safety Info:

Poison Oak

  • Poison Oak is a native plant on California’s central coast. CalFire helped us remove Poison Oak from the trail, just for you, but exposure is still possible!

  • Our wonderful, Atascadero-based partner, Action Wipes, has donated his eco-friendly product to cleanse any oils you may have been exposed to. They will be available at the base of the trail.

Pests

  • Ticks are out in force. Beware!

This is a challenging, single-track trail.

  • The exclusiveness of your experience means pristine, yet rugged conditions. Hope for the best, but come prepared for the worst :)

Guest considerations

  • Wear clothing suited to the weather. Consider dressing in layers!

  • Wear sturdy shoes

  • Carry snacks and H2O (reusable container filling station will be made available).

  • Carry hiking poles (optional)

  • 9:00am or 12:00pm — Don’t be late! Allow enough time for check-in and parking.

8:30-9:00 — Park and check-in

9:00-9:15 — Escorted stroll to building on base for in-brief

9:15-9:40 — Introductions and short brief

9:40-10:00 — Escorted movement to trailhead, safety brief, water fill-up

10:00-12:00 — Enjoy exclusive access to hike beautiful Cerro Romauldo and make new friends!

12:00-12:30 — Escorted stroll off base, back to parking lot

12:00PM HIKE

11:30-12:00 — Park and check-in

12:00-12:15 — Escorted stroll to building on base for in-brief

12:15-12:40 — Introductions and short brief

12:40-13:00 — Escorted movement to trailhead, safety brief, water fill-up

13:00-15:00 — Enjoy exclusive access to hike beautiful Cerro Romauldo and make new friends!

15:00-15:30 — Escorted stroll off base, back to parking lot
